Why add Olaplex to your hair service?

Olaplex is truly a remarkable product. It's been able to do what no additive has been able to perform in the past. Here is how it works!

Olaplex changes everything within the hair. This product offers options for your hair to be worked with. It is not a conditioning treatment that is temporary. Olaplex restructures the hair internally by linking broken disulfite bonds and by this it makes it possible to color and lighten the hair again prior this would not be a healthy choice for the condition of the hair. This is an entirely new chemistry allowing the hair to be repaired to be  chemically, thermal and mechanically serviced again.
Prior to Olaplex, you would not be able to immediately color or highlight the hair after a perm or a relaxer being that this would compromise the hair causing damage and breakage to the hair.
By using Olaplex, this process will link the disulfite bonds not affecting the shape or form of the perm or relaxer by creating stronger bonds that can be imediately serviced again by either coloring or highlighting. As an additive to the lightner this product can be pushed further than ever before. The reason for this is bonds are being repaired as they are broken. The more there are bonds to break, the farther they are able to be pushed.
This amazing product works within the hair follicule and causes permanent changes. In order to maintain the condition of the hair after using Olaplex, this is where the #3 hair perfector comes in play. This is a take home product to be used once per week to your hair regimen.

I would say for those of you who are skeptics, try Olaplex just once so you can feel the diffrence and then after that you can at least say you tryed it and have your own personal opinion on it to share to others who may be in the same curiosity spot as you may be reading this.

Olaplex is an in salon service only so please contact myself or your hair stylist in your city who offers this product to be serviced by.

LAshX eyelash extensions

LAshX extensions is concidered the Luxury Brand for faux mink permanent eyelash extensions and aftercare. LAshX prides themselves in being the safest, healthiest brand in the market.

Mink lash is a faux mink that is strong enough to hold it's shape and curve yet soft enough to last longer and feel better than traditional synthetic lashes. Lash mink lashes are also significantly safer on the delicate human lash.
Faux Mink lashes are bold, rigid and have a slight shine to them.

What I absolutely love about this line is that it is absolutely safe for the eyes and it also promotes hair growth. The adhesive that was specifically created for this line is 100% formaldehyde free which is a huge plus for me being that formaldehyde is known to be a human carcinogen and the scary thing about it is it is used in most adhesives that is being used to adhere lashes that come in close contact with your eyes... scary truth.

The art of lash extension application is a highly technical and meticulous process. Individual Mink Lashes are singularly bonded to each individual lash, creating a longer, thicker, more glamorous look without diminishing the health of natural lashes.

Hair Cycle

For a better understanding of what the hair goes through or better yet the growth processs I thought was important to share since I do get asked quite often on that paticular topic.
Hair Growth
Hair cycle. If the hair is normal and healthy, each individual hair goes through a steady cycle of events: Anagen phase(growth), Catagen phase(fall) and Telogen phase(replacement).
The formation and growth of hair cells depend upon proper nourishment and oxygen which only the blood stream can supply. Therefore, the function of blood is necessary to the life and health of the hair.
When the body is healthy, hair flourishes. If the body is ill, hair weakens and as any functioning organ it dies. When the blood stream provides the hair with food elements, it grows long and strong. If malnourished, it becomes weak and eventually hair loss occurs.
Normal hair growth. The average growth of healthy hair on the scalp is about half inch per month. The rate of growth of human hair will differ on specific parts of the body, between sexes, among races and with age. Scalp hair will aslo differ among individuals, in strength, elasticity, and waviness.
Racial factors have a bearing on hair growth. For example,  American Indians and Chinese both have long, thick straight black hair. Ethnic hair is usually shorter and over-curly hair.
The growth of scalp hair occurs more rapidly between the ages of 15 and 30, but declines or slows between 50 and 60.
Normal hair shedding. A certain amount of hair is shed daily. This is normal to make way for new hair growth. The average daily shedding is roughly 50 to 100 hairs per day. Hair loss beyond this estimated average is a sign of potential scalp or hair trouble that main need special or medical attention. Hair growth is also influenced by the season of the year, nutrition and hormones…
The life span of hair ranges from two to eight years.
Other factors such as sex, age, type of hair, heredity and health have a bearing on the duration  of the hair's life span.
Hair does not grow after death.
Take care of your health because your hair feels it!

Warming up for fall

When going into a new season, it's always good for a change of hair color. Depending on your skin tone is where you can determine which color best suits you. Fall is right around the corner so you want to choose colors that are in the warm side. Warm colors are in the red family and that is your target leaning towards it wether it's subtle pieces incorporated into your light cool colored hair or full on color.

Below are examples of the different skin tones and ideas of where you should go depending on the season your in. If you notice to your left side for autumn the colors to be drawn to are reds/warm. Reds are first to fade out so what helps to hold best is doing it when it's no longer hot so that should be an encourager to try it then. Taking cool showers or at least a last splash of cool water to allow the cuticle to close are one of the recomendations that our  local hair stylist tend to give clients to help lock it in if it's during the warmer weather.
Falling into Winter time darker colors are recomended that can go as far as jet black but be careful with that being that black can be a nightmare to remove so unless you are not ready for the comitment I would recomend dark brown or dark auburn.

Very pale skin. Anything from an unatural red to a natural ginger can be flattering for that specific skin type.
Golden to olive skin tones look best with dark natural auburn or dark red brown.
Pink skin tone tend to pull off a darker cold red or purple red.
Medium to dark skin. A bright fire-engine can be very striking for a darker skin type along with deeper dark reds.
Now that you have a few ideas on where to go with determining where you fall maybe it's time for a color enhancement for autumn!

Facial types and what to aim for.

When it comes to deciding on a new hair style there are a few things to concider before in order to create a look that is porportionate to each and every face structure. Most importantly is to decide which face shape we fall under and there are seven. A hairstyle can change your look dramatically and this is why I will explain each facial shape and what would be the ideal look for each and every one. At this point would be great to grab a hand held mirror and observe your shape and decide acording to which image best describes your face structure.
OVAL FACIAL SHAPE
The oval type is generally accepted as the perfect face. The contours and proportions of the oval face form the basis for modifying all other facial types.
Facial Contour: The oval face is about one and a half times longer than its width across the brow; the forehead is slightly wider than the chin.
Aim: To maintain the oval contour. Any style can be worn as there are no features to minimize.

ROUND FACIAL TYPE
Facial Contour: Round hairline and round chin line.
Aim: To create the illusion of legth to the face.
Arranging the hair high on top of the head, and leaving the ears exposed or dressed flat over the ears will help minimize the roundness of the face.

SQUARE FACIAL TYPE
Facial Contour: Straight hairline and square jawline.
Aim: To create the illusion of legth and offset the squarenessof the features.
The problems of the square facial type are similar to those of the round. Hair lifted at sides but higher on one side will add to the apparent legth to the face.

PEAR-SHAPE FACIAL TYPE
Facial Contouring: Narrow forehead, wide jawline and chin line.
Aim: To create the illusion of width in the forehead and legth in the face.
Keeping the hair dressed fairly full and high above the ears and leaving the forehead exposed will add to the apparent width of the forehead and legth of the face.
OBLONG FACIAL TYPE
Facial Contour: Long narrow face with hollow cheeks.
Aim: To make the face appear shorter and wider.
The hair should be styled fairly close to the top of the head with a fringe of curls or bangs. Combined with fullness at the sides, it will help to reduce the apparent legth of the face.

DIAMOND FACIAL TYPE
Facial Contour: Narrow forehead , extreme width through the cheek bones and narrow chin.
Aim: To reduce the width across the cheekbone line.
Increasing the fullness across the forehead and at the jawline, while keeping the hair close to the head at  the cheekbone line will help to create the illusion of ovalness to the face.
HEART-SHAPE FACIAL TYPE
Facial Contour: Wide forehead and narrow chin line.
Aim: To decrease the width of the foreheadand increase the width in the lower part of the face.
To reduce width of forehead, a hairstyle slanted to one side is recomended. Add width and softness at the jawline.
Now that we have gone over the seven basic face shapes and a few tips on what to concider for your paticular unique shape, maybe you are ready for a fun change of hair style influenced by your own face shape. Have fun creating change!

Why drink water?

Ever notice a lifeless plant and as soon as you water it bounces right up? Well that should tell you so much about what goes on in our bodies when we feel sluggish.
I know we all should know since we have been told and learned at one point in our lives about the important benefits it has to our well being.
Being that it is such a simple act yet most of us fall short in doing so.. why is that?
I can say at one point I absolutely hated it and when I say hated I could not stress it enough. I felt as long as I drank a liquid being a glass here and there of juice, milk I was doing good, WRONG!!
It came a point where I decided I wanted to feel better because my energy level was just taking a slam dunk fast. I blamed it on old age since I was beginning to get up there and being that I was about I'd say in my late twenties how could it be? That is when I decided to trick myself into drinking water but I did not want to add sugary stuff into it so I thought well why not drink lemonade with light sweetener? well I would try that and it was fine for a little while but I could only drink so much lemonade so I decided to experiment with peppermint in my water and that worked for a while then I got bored but each time adding different fruits like raspberries, cucumbers, peaches etc until I was able to gradually accept just going cold turkey and drinking plain water here and there it  finally happened for me, I was able to accept plain water but chilled of course.
Some benefits water has to name a few is the cleansing and getting rid of wastes through urination, perspiration and bowel movements.
I know you are thinking why in the heck is this girl blogging about water being that I am a Cosmetologist? Well the reason why is because I was thinking how important it is, the consumption of it to not just our well being but to the outer body and that affects our outer beauty when lacking it. My skin looks and feels radiant, plump just for the that simple act but when drinking enough of course and I do receive more compliments on my skin. I look and feel better so why not drink up? Cheers!
